Eleanor F. Kummer Dodds, 96 of Valencia, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2011, in Cranberry Place.
She was born on September 12, 1914, in Evans City and was the daughter of the late William and Dorothy Hardt Kummer.
Mrs. Dodds retired from Shaler School District, having taught first grade and Kindergarten , for 29 years.
She was a Past Matron of Jephthah Chapter # 73 O.E.S.
Mrs. Dodds spent her summers at Lake Erie and Madison, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence H. Dodds in 1984, six sisters, three brothers, and a granddaughter.
Mrs. Dodds is survived by two sons; L. James Dodds of Valencia, and Richard (Sally) Dodds of New Castle, Delaware, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends of Eleanor F. Dodds, who died on Saturday, February 19, 2011, will be received at the A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home, Inc. 328 West Main Street, Evans City, PA 16033, from 10:00 a.m. until noon on Tuesday, February, 22, 2011. A service will follow at noon with the Rev. Rosalyn Kummer retired pastor and Rev. Terry Stoops, of Bakerstown Presbyterian Church officiating. The burial will take place in Allegheny County Memorial Park in Allison Park.
