Janet L. Powell Metz, age 86, of Harmony, died Monday afternoon in Evergreen Nursing Center, Harmony.
Born in Harmony, Oct. 12, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Spurgeon and Mary Heckard Powell.
She was a member of Grace Church, Harmony.
Janet was a devoted mother and grandmother, who enjoyed reading, camping, cross word puzzles and bowling.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. Metz on March 13, 2001, and one daughter Marcia.
She is survived by one daughter, Barbara (Robert) Wenzelburger of Zelienople; two sons, James L. (Judy) Metz of Cary, NC and Steven R. (Shirley) Metz of Harmony; four grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
Friends and relatives of Janet, who died on March 3, 2014, will be received Thurs. March 6, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at the Kinsey-Volz F.H. 114 W. Spring St. Zelienople, PA 16063. Funeral Services will be held on Friday March 7, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. from the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Evans City Cemetery.
