Bruce S. Nelson, age 86, of Evans City, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, May 15, 2014, in UPMC Passavant, McCandless Twp.
Born October 7, 1927, in Evans City, he was the son of the late John and Charlotte Stratton Nelson.
Bruce was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Evans City.
He was a District Sales Manager for Northwest Airlines, retiring with over 30 years of service.
Bruce was a 50 year member of Harmony Lodge
#429 F & A M.
Bruce loved his family, enjoyed going to the casino, traveling, and gardening.
He was preceded in death by one daughter and two brothers.
Bruce is survived by his wife Helen P. Pryor Nelson, who he married May 9, 1952; two sons, David B. (Dr. Bonnie Gong) Nelson of Bellvue, WA and Robert (Lonnie) Nelson of Charlotte, NC; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandson.
Friends of Bruce, who died on Thursday May 15, will receive friends and family on Sunday May 18, 2014, from 5 to 9 P.M. at the Kinsey-Volz F.H. 328 West Main St. Evans CIty, funeral services will be held on Monday May 19, at 10:30 A.M. from the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Evans City Cemetery.
Harmony lodge #429 will have a Masonic service at 6:30 P.M. on Sunday May 18 th.
