William D. Painter II

Died: 5/14/2014

William D. Painter II, age 69, of Evans City, Died Wednesday moring May 14, 2014, in UPMC Cranberry.

Born in Butler, July 30, 1944, he was the son of the late William D. and Ruth Iman Painter.

Bill was a life member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, where he had served on Church Council.

He was a furnace operator for Halstead Metals, Zelienople for 25 years until its closing. He had served as an officer for United Stell Workers Union. Bill then became a Nurse's Aide at St. John's Specialty Care Center, Mars.

He graduated from Evans City High School in 1963. Bill enjoyed all sports.

Bill was very devoted to mowing grass at the Evans City Cemetery for 40 plus years.

He was preceded in death by one brother, John Painter.

He is survived by his wife Patricia A. Kelley Painter, who he married June 18, 1983; two daughters, Tiffany Painter of Bellevue and Michele (Shawn) Holmberg of Emsworth; two sons William P. (Caitlin) Painter, of Butler and Edward J. (Jennifer) Painter of Meadville; one step-daughter, Connie J. (Wayne) Dodson of Evans CIty; his step mother who raised him from the age of two, Helen Trevitt Painter of Evans City, one sister, Beth (Jeff) Stamp of AR, two brothers, Ronald Painter of MD, and Richard (Sally) Painter of Evans City; 7 grandchildren and one great grandson.

Friends of Bill Painter II who died on May 14, 2014, will be received on Monday May 19, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M., at the Kinsey-Volz F.H. 328 West Main St., Evans City PA 16033, Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 20th at 10:30 A.M. from St. Peter's Lutheran Church.

Burial will take place in the Evans City Cemetery.

If desired, the family has suggested memorial donations be made to the American Diabetes Assoc..
