Theresa Ann (Cowell) Kennedy, age 86, of Evans City passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 20, 2025, while under the care of Lutheran Senior Life, Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople.
Born in Pittsburgh on June 1, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Earl R. Cowell and Veronica Bungert.
She graduated from North Allegheny High School in 1957.
Theresa was a homemaker and mother. She was a member of Christian Community Church, Gibsonia. She enjoyed serving God and others in many ways, including VBS, Nursery, and Card Ministry, to name just a few.
Theresa had been active in the former Evans City OctoberFest and the Evans City Salvation Army.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one infant as well as a daughter (Marilyn), two sisters (Jean and Dorothy), and two brothers (Richard and Earl).
Surviving is her husband, Karl W. Kennedy, whom she married July 20, 1957; one daughter, Kathy; two sons, Karl (Ana) of VA and James (Becky) of Zelienople; five grandchildren, Kyle, Kristopher (Amy), Andrea (Nathan), Alex (Courtney) and Sean (Lauren); and four great-grandchildren, Micah, Abigail, Kayleigh, and Callen.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1pm on Saturday, December 13, 2025, in Seaman Memorial Chapel at Lutheran Senior Life, Passavant Retirement Community (105 Burgess Drive, 2nd Floor, Zelienople).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Theresa’s name be made to Christian Community Church (5719 N. Montour Road, Gibsonia, PA 15044) or the Salvation Army Evans City (139 Harrison Street, Evans City, PA 16033).
