Pat Schuller Schar, age 80, of Zelienople, PA, loving wife, mother and grandmother, graduated from this life and entered into life eternal on November 26, 2025. Cremation rites were performed according to her wishes.
Pat was born in Savannah, GA, to Phil and Pat Schuller on November 10, 1945. She was one of four children.
Pat married Wayne Schar on June 10, 1967, and they were married for 58 years. She faithfully supported her husband as he pastored five United Methodist churches, though her home church was Harmony Zelienople United Methodist Church.
There she served as a Sunday School teacher, Education Chairman, and VBS teacher and coordinator.
She spent 32.5 years as a kindergarten teacher at Evans City Elementary School; a role she loved and poured her heart into.
Pat enjoyed planning and hosting events— family cookie bake-offs, Cousin Camp, fall dinners, grandchildren Valentine bake days, English tea parties, and Kentucky Derby parties. Creating memories was her joy.
Pat is survived by her husband, Wayne; one son, Daniel Schar, and his wife Jill, and their children Jake, Emma (Alexandar), Andrew, and Nathan; and one daughter, Heidi Altman (Schar), and her husband David, and their children Brittany (Alex) and Blake. She is also survived by her sister, Melissa Carroll (Vance) of Eagle, CO, and her brother, Phil Schuller of Pittsburgh. She was preceded in death by her brother, Rich Schuller, of Aurora, CO.
To honor her memory, the family invites those who wish to do so to make a donation to Christian Sports International at: https://teamcsi.charityproud.org/Donate/Index/40948
A Celebration of Life will be held in the new year. Details will be shared at a later date.
