Rev. Dr. William A. Jamieson age 90 of Zelienople, formerly of Evans City passed away Tuesday afternoon, January 6, 2026, in Passavant Retirement Community.
Born October 2, 1935, in Clinton, MA he was the son of the late James and Anna Russell Jamieson.
A Graduate from Clinton High School, MA. and from Gordon College, MA. Rev. J attended Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, earning a Masters of Divinity and Theology with Honors. He earned his Doctorate of Ministry from the Theological Foundation in Donaldson, IN. He was ordained May 20, 1960, by the First U.P. Church of Clinton, MA
He received the Eagle Scout & Silver Beaver Award from Boy Scouts of America. Rev. J. also served as Chaplain for two National Jamborees for the Boy Scouts.
Rev. J. served as a Pastoral Counselor for the Pittsburgh Pastoral Institute and a Fellow of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors.
Rev. J. served as Pastor at Amity Presbyterian Church Dravosburg, PA for 10 years, and then the Westminster Presbyterian Church, Evans City, PA for 28 years, retiring April 30, 1998. He was named Pastor Emeritus of the Westminster Church. He was very proud to serve the congregations of both churches.
Rev. J was a member of Beaver & Butler Presbytery where he served as Moderator on two occasions and was a chairperson on various committees.
In addition to his parents, Rev. J was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie E. Higgins Jamieson whom he married September 13, 1958, and passed away on September 26, 2025, after celebrating 67 years of marriage.
He is survived by one daughter, Laurel (Roger) Lohrey of Northfield Center, OH, one son, Benjamin (Jennifer) Jamieson of Meridian, three grandchildren, Erica Jamieson, Martin Zanicky and Stuart Lohrey.
Friends and relatives of Rev. Dr. William A. Jamieson will be received from A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home, Evans City on Friday January 9, from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m., from Westminster Church with additional visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with Rev. Lauren Bosserman, Pastor of Westminster United Presbyterian Church and Rev. Dr. Tom Harmon officiating.
Rev. Jamieson will be laid to rest in the Evans City Cemetery.
